The House of Freeborn Experience: A Custom-Tailored Popup Fashion Exhibit

MIAMI, FL – Nov 27, 2023 – Freeborn Designs, A San Francisco-based line of tailored suits, blazers, vests, and transforming the landscape of modern men's fashion, is proud to announce the grand opening of its first exclusive Miami activation, The House of Freeborn Experience: A custom-tailored fashion exhibit, in the vibrant Wynwood District of Miami during Miami Art Week.

Inspired by owner and visionary designer James Freeborn's passion for global travel, psychedelic experiences, and distinctive textiles, Freeborn Designs challenges the conventional norms of men's fashion, steering away from the mundane black, gray, and navy blue business suits into a world of forward-thinking openness and fun – all while showcasing a timeless sense of style and sophistication. 

“I think men should be able to express their unique personality, while still looking classy and sophisticated,” Freeborn said.

The House of Freeborn Experience exhibit is located at 101 NE 20th Street in the Wynwood District – a space first built in 1935 that pays homage to Miami’s history yet speaks to the bustling present of the popular arts neighborhood. Located next to the popular BOHO House Miami club and restaurant, The Freeborn Experience will run from Nov 22 until December 31st, 2023.

"Wynwood is a perfect canvas for our House of Freeborn Experience,” said James Freeborn, whose background with pop-up events was born in some of the most iconic neighborhoods in San Francisco such as Haight-Ashbury, the Mission District, and The Castro. “This is a celebration of unique fashion during the iconic Art Basel week."

The House of Freeborn Experience will showcase custom-tailored suits, blazers, and vests catering to any gender. In addition to the bespoke clothing, the experience features an assortment of accessories, including ties and hats. Guests can schedule consultations with James Freeborn to get fitted for custom suits to choose everything from suit design down to the fabric, stitching colors, and personal embroidery.

The line gained momentum by participating in music and arts festivals across the US, with a notable presence at festivals such as Bonnaroo (Tennessee), Electric Forest (Michigan), Hulaween (Florida), and Symbiosis Eclipse (Oregon) outfitting famed musicians along the way the likes of Polo and Pan, Rob Garza,  the String Cheese Incident, Angelo Moore (the legendary saxophonist from Fishbone), and other visionaries and artists such as Matt Groenning, creator of The Simpsons and Steve Huffman, CEO of Reddit. 

However, in the realm of love, Freeborn Designs makes a lasting impact on brides and grooms. Its unique designs and bespoke prints have graced over three hundred weddings in the US and abroad. Those looking to tie the knot will have a unique chance to meet the designer, get fitted, and explore additional items on the wedding packages available.

With a growing loyal customer base, and following a successful pop-up in San Francisco's famed alternative fashion boutique Five and Diamond location, James Freeborn decided to open a Flagship location in the historic Castro District within a storefront once run by legendary San Francisco brand “All American Boy”, one of Robin Williams's favorite places to shop.
